In preparation for the upcoming Common Core State Standard aligned SBAC assessment that will take place across the U.S., all classes in grades 3 -5 have been coming into the library to learn and practice how to use the technology tools embedded within the assessment.
There are A LOT of tech buttons and tools. Some are universal to all aspects of the test and others are specific to particular questions or sections.
Some of the many things our students have mastered:
· Navigation of questions, passages, pages and questions
· Flagging questions for review later
· Completing/Changing a checkmarked answer
· Scrolling articles and text (expanding when necessary)
· Clicking and dragging content to new location
· Inserting numbers and text
- Highlighting and striking out text
- Inserting points and utilizing connect tools
Although many of our students were, at first overwhelmed by the shift to test using technology, the majority of our students are adapting to these tools quite quickly.
