poem in your pocket day

4/24/2014

April is National Poetry Month and today is Poem in Your Pocket Day. We have already distributed over 200 poems at Brennan Rogers in preparation! Established by the Academy of American Poets, Poem in Your Pocket day is where people of all ages share poetry. Throughout the United States people are encouraged to select a poem, carry it in their pocket and share it with others throughout the day (anywhere! Not just at school).

Check out Twitter's hashtag #pocketpoem to see different ways people are celebrating!  You can also visit the Academy of American Poets website to learn more.

I love poems because they are fun and the reason I like and love poems is because my mom use to write poems in a book she shared them with her mom but not everybody and her poems were really good and they were sometimes funny!
